What you will do

• Act as the technical owner for fraud and AML detection architecture, including rule engines and risk-scoring pipelines.
• Design event flows, data schemas, and triggers to support high-scale, low-latency production monitoring.
• Lead the optimization of detection logic, translating risk appetite into robust, data-backed, and efficient rules.
• Collaborate with Data Science to integrate machine learning models, anomaly detectors, and behavioral signals into monitoring systems.
• Manage and mentor a technical team of analysts, fostering an engineering mindset centered on testing, documentation, and performance.
• Partner with platform and data engineering teams to improve system reliability, alert pipelines, and auditability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in fraud/risk engineering, data engineering, or technical risk analytics.
• Proven hands-on experience designing and maintaining fraud/AML rules engines or transaction monitoring systems.
• Strong SQL proficiency and experience with distributed data systems like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time processing tools such as Kafka or Flink.
• Solid grasp of fraud typologies, AML detection logic, and the ability to integrate risk signals into backend production flows.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing technical teams or hybrid engineering/analytical profiles.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with industry-standard fraud platforms like Feedzai, Featurespace, or Ravelin.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and prototyping.
• Background in merchant acquiring, high-velocity payments, or embedded finance.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
