Web Engineer

TL;DR

Web Engineer (Vue/TypeScript): Developing a next-generation investment platform to improve consumer access to financial advice and investment management with an accent on building and testing features, managing deployment, and supporting the service in production. Focus on iterative improvements, automation, and working outside of your specialism when needed.

Location: Hybrid, minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office in Manchester, London, or Bristol. New team members will initially be full-time in the office.

What you will do

• Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production support.
• Work as part of a distributed team with remote and async communication.
• Iteratively improve a new product aligning to design and architectural principles.
• Look for ways to improve product, processes, and practices.
• Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
• Work outside of your specialism when needed to help get things done.

Requirements

• Excellent programming and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Git, Bash, Typescript, Vue, HTML, CSS (Sass) and JavaScript.
• Understanding of software design patterns and paradigms like OOP, DDD, MVC, microservices, containers/orchestration, or event-driven architecture.
• Ability to create straightforward and well-tested code.
• Take ownership of tasks and problems, asking for help when needed.
• Experience working with Investment or Pensions platforms is an advantage.
