What you will do

• Own frontend technical direction across Shared space, making architectural and implementation decisions autonomously.
• Lead delivery of features and products using Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, and headless CMS (Directus) from planning to production.
• Contribute to shared component libraries, design tokens, and cross-team packages for the wider Commercial Tech estate.
• Drive AI-assisted development using tools like Claude Code for accelerating delivery, generating tests, and scaffolding components.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing; maintain high code quality standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience building production React applications with TypeScript.
• Demonstrable experience with Next.js including SSR, SSG, App Router, API routes, and middleware.
• Experience integrating with headless CMS platforms (Directus, Contentful, Strapi, Sanity, or similar).
• Comfortable working with GraphQL and/or RESTful APIs.
• Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience leading or mentoring other frontend engineers; self-starting with ability to make independent technical decisions.
• Active use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) in professional work.
