What you will do
- Lead and scale a development team, setting technical direction and long-term strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to ensure consistent, high-quality UI development.
- Drive AI adoption within the technology stack and enable teams to leverage AI in platform development.
- Establish frameworks, standards, and boundaries to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
- Own and evolve the team’s roadmap including components, design patterns, and internal tooling.
- Provide technical mentorship and hands-on guidance to ensure strong engineering practices and architecture.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in or near Toronto, Canada for hybrid work
- 2-4 years of experience as an engineering leader, preferably with front-end platform or design system ownership.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally in distributed teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to drive alignment across teams.
- Product-oriented mindset with a bias for action and platform thinking.
Nice to have
- Deep expertise in modern front-end development (React, TypeScript, component-based architectures).
- Experience leading design systems or internal UI frameworks at scale.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI into front-end workflows or tooling.
- Familiarity with accessibility, performance optimization, and front-end infrastructure.
