Sr. Software Engineer (Backend)

TL;DR

Sr. Software Engineer (Backend): Developing highly scalable, distributed services for the Accounts team at SIE, leveraging AWS services to create high transaction, low latency systems. Focus on designing and developing microservices architecture to support the fast-growing SIE customer base across PlayStation consoles, devices, and PC platforms.

Location: Please note that individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Design and develop highly scalable, distributed services.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers, and operations team members across PlayStation.
• Take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle.
• Participate in coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Requirements

• BS or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in developing business critical software using Enterprise Java/J2EE, Web Services, REST, JSON/XML, expert level of object oriented programming analysis and design.
• 2+ years’ experience developing with AWS native services such as EC2, EKS, S3, Kinesis, Glue, Lambda, SQS, SNS and DynamoDB.
• Experience developing applications on Java Services on Linux platforms.
• Experience with servlet containers (e.g., Tomcat, Reactor Netty), JAXRS, Spring, and related technologies.
• Possess deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience with micro service architecture.
• Experience creating UML artifacts (e.g., class, sequence, and component diagrams)
• Experience with AI driven development tools for code review and pipeline management
