Intern Data Engineering

TL;DR

Intern Data Engineering (Data Science/ML): Support and build data pipelines, maintain ETL/ELT workflows, and assist with cloud infrastructure and data migration at a fast-growing vacation rental tech company. With an accent on data reliability, cloud services, and AI-assisted development. Focus on learning real-world data engineering challenges, pipeline performance monitoring, and modern data tooling.

Location: Munich, Germany with hybrid work (2-3 office days per week)

What you will do

• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines using Airflow and dbt.
• Monitor data quality and pipeline performance, identifying and resolving issues.
• Work with cloud infrastructure on AWS for data storage and querying.
• Support migration from legacy SQL to modern data workflows.
• Explore AI-assisted coding tools to enhance development productivity.

Requirements

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of Python and/or SQL.
• Interest in data systems, pipelines, databases, and cloud computing.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Location: Must be able to work onsite in Munich with hybrid schedule.
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience or experimentation with Airflow, dbt, Docker, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools like LLMs.
