Control Engineer

TL;DR

Control Engineer: Developing the application layer of control software for traction converters with an accent on software requirements definition and documentation. Focus on testing, troubleshooting, and coordinating technical solutions to maximize software reuse and accelerate standardization.

Location: On-site in Zurich, Switzerland. Travel required between 20-30% of the time.

What you will do

• Develop the application layer of control software for traction converters.
• Create and update software documentation according to defined standards.
• Test and troubleshoot software across various environments, including real-time simulators and laboratories.
• Provide technical support to peers, other disciplines, and customers throughout project development.
• Coordinate technical solutions with peers to maximize software reuse and minimize the risk of bugs.

Requirements

• University degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of experience in software development for closed-loop control, signal processing, algorithms, and real-time programming mechanisms.
• Experienced with IEC 61131-3 programming languages (CODESYS) and Matlab Simulink.
• Familiar with software versioning tools (SVN, Git).
• Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English; German is a plus.
