What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services to support online multiplayer features
• Develop client-side systems in C++ for online features using Unreal Engine
• Implement monitoring and alerting for services
• Collaborate with design, art, and production teams to shape online features
• Write clean, performant, and well-tested code
• Mentor team members and conduct code reviews to maintain quality

Requirements

• Must be located in Canada (Burnaby, BC) for onsite work
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in game development
• Proficiency in C++, Go, and Python
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking protocols, and multiplayer game systems
• Experience with relational databases, Kubernetes, AWS, and observability tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD and event-driven architecture
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 or similar game engines
• Track record of shipping AAA multiplayer titles
• Passion for sports
