Salary: $158,800 - $198,500 CAD

What you will do

• Act as a Platform Product Owner to define the platform's long-term roadmap and prioritize the backlog, aligning efforts with organizational needs.
• Sponsor and champion the platform, collaborating with executive and stakeholder teams to prioritize goals and accommodate their guidance.
• Promote a culture of autonomy and accountability within the team, empowering innovation and proactive architectural improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship in cloud-based engineering, focusing on observability systems and product delivery.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule, providing after-hours expertise or guidance (business hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET).

Requirements

• Leadership & Experience: 4+ years of professional leadership combined with work experience in DevOps, SRE, or System Administration.
• Proven ability to define and leverage platform usage metrics and developer satisfaction to drive adoption and scaling.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, and ArgoCD to effectively guide and mentor your team.
• Demonstrable programming abilities in scripting languages like Bash and Python.
• Ability to contribute to the architecture and design of platform engineering products.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex issues.
• B.S. in Computer Science/MIS/CIS (or related discipline).

Nice to have

• Experience in driving product adoption for an internal platform.
• Track record of successfully mentoring engineers into more senior/specialized roles.
• Istio/Gloo Mesh experience.
• Experience with IaC, Git/GitOps, AWS.
• Knowledge of Linux system internals and common tools.
• Java EE/Jakarta experience with Maven, Tomcat, TomEE, Quarkus.
• Experience with database systems like MySQL, Redis, Cassandra.
