What you will do

• Design and evolve core backend services that support customer-facing features at scale.
• Build resilient, observable systems, ensuring they remain reliable and maintainable.
• Operate as a hands-on technical leader, remaining close to the code.
• Guide architectural decisions and support delivery across the team.
• Own outcomes, drive technical standards, and help define engineering approaches.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other senior engineers.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Lead Backend Engineer or senior-level backend engineer, using Python or another modern backend language.
• Proven ability to design, build, and evolve scalable backend systems within distributed architectures.
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system design, performance, and reliability.
• Experience influencing architecture and technical direction across services or teams.
• Confidence leading complex technical initiatives from early design through to delivery.
• Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
• Product-aware mindset, balancing engineering quality with real user impact.
• Comfortable communicating technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
