Senior Lead of Engineering (Observability)

Senior Lead of Engineering (Observability): Leading and coaching a large engineering team responsible for designing, building, and operating high-scale observability systems that support operational metrics, visualization, logs, traces, and alerts for hirify.global deployments. Focus on innovating and scaling systems to handle billions of metrics time series and petabytes of logs, traces, and events with strict SLOs on security, durability, availability, and performance.

Location: Hybrid model, must be based in Dublin

What you will do

• Lead and coach a large team of motivated individual contributors or leads.
• Contribute to the design, infrastructure, and architecture of high-volume ingestion systems.
• Work closely with product, program managers, and other engineering teams to deliver new features.
• Drive best practices for monitoring, reliability, and performance of observability services.
• Work with customers and support engineers, including participating in an on-call rotation.
• Actively participate in growing the team by hiring.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 4 years of people management experience.
• Experience managing larger teams or leads.
• Experience leading engineering teams that have built, designed, and maintained large-scale systems.
• Skilled at writing large-scale, distributed backend systems in a compiled language.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider technology (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent communication skills.
