Location: Remote within Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), with campuses in Sydney and Melbourne, and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

What you will do

• Own and deliver a strategic architecture and roadmap for the Detection and Response Team.
• Identify and deliver improved security response tooling and capabilities (e.g., Case Management, Automation, SOAR, SIEM, Detection, Forensics, Malware Analysis).
• Lead the adoption and integration of GenAI Workflows to enhance team efficiency and scalability.
• Drive engineering excellence across the Detection and Response team through individual contributions and mentoring.
• Act as a technical leader, collaborating across security teams to achieve joint Detection and Response goals.
• Assist in interviewing and hiring talented security engineers and support their growth.

Requirements

• Extensive experience owning and delivering long-term strategic roadmaps for Security Detection and Response tooling.
• Hands-on experience developing scalable security automation, case management, and detection/response capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to make engineering decisions (build vs. buy) and manage vendors effectively.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages like Golang, Python, or Java for secure software development.
• Strong project management skills, including leading projects and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse groups and explaining complex technical concepts.
• Experience with Security Incident Response and Threat Modelling.
