What you will do

• Write and edit high-quality articles, explainers, case studies, and multimedia scripts on complex scientific topics.
• Build content that connects company innovations to their impact, with an emphasis on scientific integrity and responsible communication.
• Adapt messaging and format for distinct stakeholders including customers, partners, government, investors, and future employees.
• Lead editorial efforts, assigning projects, setting briefs, and providing feedback to contractor writers.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and leaders to gather insights and translate internal research into external narratives.
• Oversee the development of visuals, photography, and short-form video concepts to enhance comprehension.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, materials science, journalism, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a science writer or journalist with a portfolio in reputable outlets.
• Strong ability to explain complex scientific concepts accurately to diverse audiences.
• Must be able to work onsite in Cambridge, MA, USA.
• English: C1+ required.

Nice to have

• Experience managing or leading a team of writers (including contractors).
• Ability to create or manage creation of visual/multimedia content.
