Senior Backend Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Berlin, hybrid with 3 days per week in the office; up to 6 remote calendar weeks per year

What you will do

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend services that solve customer problems.
• Participate in product problem discovery and solution creation with Product Managers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features and improvements.
• Improve team output by addressing technical debt and strengthening collaboration and communication.
• Contribute to technology that supports fund operations across the private-markets lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building backend systems in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in backend development with TypeScript or another strongly typed language.
• Experience with SQL databases and Nest.js or similar frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance tuning.
• Passion for technology, an entrepreneurial mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, highly regulated industries, or document processing.

Hiring process

• People team interview lasting approximately 20 minutes.
• Hiring Manager interview lasting approximately 60 minutes.
• Technical interview with two engineers, followed by a final interview with the CTO.
