Senior Staff Engineer (Observability): Designing, building, and operating high-scale internal and external observability stacks for the hirify.global platform with an accent on metrics, logs, traces, and alerts for critical workloads. Focus on innovating and scaling systems to handle petabytes of data, leading architecture, and ensuring performance, scalability, and resiliency in distributed systems.
Location: We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.

What you will do
- Define standards and vision for the mission-critical observability platform, leading architecture and implementation.
- Design and implement observability improvements for diagnosing production issues.
- Handle customer escalations and coach teammates on issue resolution.
- Own and ensure high quality of code maintained by the Observability Team.
- Diagnose and fix bugs, preventing future introductions and investigating performance impact.
- Lead development and project management for large company-wide initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience in designing, programming, debugging, and tuning distributed and/or highly concurrent C/C++/Java/Rust mission-critical software systems.
- Experience running latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems.
- Strong systems fundamentals, including multi-threaded programming, performance profiling, and expert-level programming.
- Familiarity with database internals or building core components for data processing systems.
- Familiarity with observability ecosystem and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.

Hiring process
- In the first month, you will understand high-level architecture and fix bugs.
- In three months, you will contribute to a major project and diagnose/fix customer issues.
- In six months, you will take on code review responsibilities and be involved in design reviews.
- In twelve months, you will lead new features, mentor engineers, and drive the long-term technical roadmap.
