What you will do
- Define and own the end-to-end technical and quality vision for Clash of Clans, from ideation to live operations.
- Be accountable for the game's release system, including cadence, gates, rollout, rollback, and incident management.
- Improve game performance, tooling, and testing to ensure a smooth player experience on target devices.
- Lead, hire, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary Tech & Quality clan (engineering, QA, release, tools, performance, platform).
- Collaborate with central tech teams and external partners on shared services, tools, and technical interfaces.
- Shape the overall game plan as part of the Clash Leads group, prioritizing player quality and team pace.
Requirements
- Held senior engineering/tech leadership roles for a large-scale live product, ideally games or complex mobile apps.
- Responsible for shipping at scale, including CI/CD, branching strategies, rollouts, rollbacks, and incident management.
- Deep technical literacy in at least one of: gameplay/client engineering, server/platform engineering, build & automation, performance engineering, or QA automation.
- Experience leading leaders and senior individual contributors; hiring, coaching, growing people, and building succession plans.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional partners (product, design, art, marketing, BI) and central/platform teams.
- Demonstrated strategic and hands-on approach, system thinking, clear communication, talent building, calmness under pressure, and player-first judgment.
