Salary: $405,000 - $485,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead and grow the UI engineering teams responsible for Claude's consumer products across web, mobile, desktop, and browser extensions.
• Define the technical vision and architecture for frontend systems, ensuring they scale with a rapidly growing user base.
• Stay deeply technical, participating in design reviews and architectural decisions.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to shape product direction.
• Drive engineering excellence through best practices in performance, accessibility, and cross-platform consistency.
• Build and mentor a world-class team of frontend engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building consumer-facing web and mobile applications at scale, with several years in engineering leadership roles.
• Track record of delivering high-quality, responsive, and accessible interfaces used by millions of users.
• Ability to dive into code, debug complex issues, and make informed architectural tradeoffs.
• Strong opinions on product and design, advocating effectively for the user.
• Excel at cross-functional partnership and building trust quickly with stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and balance speed with quality.
• Excitement for the challenge of building interfaces for AI-powered products.
• Deep care about craft and attention to detail for polished and intuitive experiences.
• Expected to be in one of the offices (New York City, San Francisco, Seattle) at least 25% of the time.

• Experience building products across multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android, desktop, browser extensions).
• Background in building real-time, interactive applications where latency and performance are critical.

• Track record of building and scaling engineering teams through periods of rapid growth.
