What you will do

• Translate merchant and partner needs into high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain backend systems using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Improve development processes through automation and simplification.
• Collaborate to ensure technically sound, observable, and testable deliverables.
• Support deployments to internal environments and production systems.

Requirements

• 3–5 years’ experience in a Software Engineering role
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven production experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and MVC architecture
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and query optimisation
• Experience writing automated tests (RSpec, Minitest, or similar)

Nice to have

• JavaScript and React experience is advantageous
