TL;DR

Editorial Intern (Content Creation): Gaining hands-on experience in research publishing by writing journalistic content for Nature Careers and Supplements with an accent on scientific communication and content diversity. Focus on building a portfolio of published work, including news, features, profiles, data analyses, and podcasts.

Location: Hybrid in London, UK, with up to three days a week working from home.

Salary: Paid internship equivalent to London Living Wage.

What you will do

• Write a variety of articles (news, features, profiles, data analyses, podcasts) for an audience of working scientists.
• Gain hands-on experience in editorial skills for journalistic content publishing.
• Pitch stories to editors and plan special collections of articles.
• Contribute to the art and design of publications.
• Work on projects related to inclusion and sustainability in publishing.

Requirements

• Have (or be studying for) a degree in a STEM subject or journalism.
• Demonstrable strong interest in both science and communication.
• Desire and ability to improve the diversity of Nature’s coverage.
• Available to start in early June 2026 for an internship of up to five months.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Must be based in London, UK for a hybrid working model.

Nice to have

• Interest in data journalism and multimedia as an asset.
