Software Engineer, Account Abuse (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid work is required, with staff expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $320,000–$485,000 USD

What you will do

• Build systems that gather and analyze account-abuse signals at scale.
• Identify integration points in other teams’ code and introduce low-impact interventions.
• Integrate third-party data-enrichment vendors.
• Create monitoring dashboards, alerts, and internal administration tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists and Policy & Enforcement teams to understand usage patterns and improve human-review impact.
• Lead root-cause analyses and deep investigations into abuse patterns and emerging attack vectors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable experience.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data-analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing greenfield environment.
• Experience level aligned with the internal requirements for the position.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of industry software engineering experience, excluding internships and co-ops.
• Experience in integrity, spam, fraud, or abuse detection.
• Experience building trust-and-safety mechanisms, fraud-detection models, security-monitoring tools, or supporting infrastructure at scale.
• Experience partnering with operational teams to build custom internal tooling.
