Lead Software Engineer (E-commerce)

Location: This position is fully remote within the United States. For candidates based in the Austin, TX Metro area, this role follows a hybrid work model, with three days per week in the office. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered a candidate.

Salary: $135,000 - $227,000

What you will do

• Develop and maintain store generation tooling for realistic test scenarios.
• Design, execute, and analyze load tests using tools like K6.
• Automate metrics collection and reporting processes for platform performance insights.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand system architecture and identify critical performance paths.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of load testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Optimize identified platform bottlenecks.

Requirements

• More than 6 years of relevant experience in scalability and performance testing.
• Hands-on expertise with load testing tools, specifically K6.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: Go, Scala, and Typescript.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and ELK.
• Experience building and maintaining automation for testing, data collection, and reporting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and microservices architectures.
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in the e-hirify.global domain.
• Experience with other performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Blazemeter).
• Familiarity with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
