Location: Remote in the US and Canada. Employees based in Denver, San Francisco, or New York City are expected to work in the office 2-3 days per week.

Salary: $195,000-$220,000/yr for most remote locations, and $230,000-$260,000/yr for San Francisco, Seattle & New York.

What you will do

• Identify and solve inefficiencies in tooling, APIs, and feedback mechanisms to improve developer productivity.
• Design, plan, measure, and implement iterative solutions, utilizing AI tools for large-scale code migrations.
• Collaborate with product engineering colleagues to anticipate and address upcoming changes.
• Develop and maintain services, abstractions, and architecture to support product engineering.
• Advance the use of of Kafka and Sidekiq for asynchronous processing and communication.
• Harden asynchronous infrastructure to be resilient under heavy loads across various use cases.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software development experience with a track record of driving impact at scale.
• Strong systems thinking and effective communication skills.
• Comfortable with architectural thinking and delivering solutions through code.
• Experience with Rails and Ruby, including developer tooling for large engineering teams.
• Active working knowledge and architecture experience with Ruby.
• Experience with asynchronous processing using Sidekiq and/or Kafka.
• Proven track record of improving developer productivity through tooling and infrastructure enhancements with the assistance of AI.
