Location: Hybrid (Redmond, United States). Employees living within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. (or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location) are expected to work from the office at least four days per week, starting January 26, 2026.

Salary: USD $139,900 – $274,800 per year (typical U.S. base pay range). Specific work locations within San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area may have a base pay range of USD $188,000 – $304,200 per year.

What you will do

• Architect scalable, low-latency systems and data pipelines for ingesting, processing (using LLM(s)), and serving customer insights.
• Design, build, and maintain robust pipelines for product usage and Copilot feature improvement insights.
• Own orchestration, monitoring, and DevOps for critical data workflows.
• Design data models and APIs that enable customer loop insights using LLM(s).
• Collaborate with privacy, security, and responsible AI teams to ensure customer insight is safe, transparent, and user-controlled.
• Optimize for performance, reliability, and cost across diverse workloads and geographies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with large scale data systems.
• Experience working with AI platforms, frameworks, and APIs.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers.
• 6+ years’ experience building scalable services, including securing applications and infrastructure on top of cloud infrastructure like Azure, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience or Bachelor's + 12+ years.
• 6+ years’ experience in Open-Source Software (OSS) data technology such as Kafka, Spark, Flink.
• Passion for learning new technologies and staying up to date with industry trends.
