Junior Linguist – Compliance & Support

Junior Linguist (Compliance & Support): Providing compliance and monitoring support across various projects, ensuring quality standards, security policies, and performance improvement initiatives, while also offering interpretation during overflow hours. With an accent on monitoring freelance interpreter performance, ensuring security policy compliance, and completing account verifications. Focus on rendering correct concepts and meanings between English and Spanish, adhering to client instructions, and maintaining a high level of accuracy in both interpretation and monitoring duties.

Location: Hybrid schedule, 2 days in the San Jose, Costa Rica office and 3 days working from home. Must report to the office if a backup work-from-home location is not available.

What you will do

• Provide complete and accurate interpretation, rendering correct concepts and meanings between English and Spanish.
• Employ excellent customer service and communication skills, adhering to client instructions and QA standards.
• Monitor interpreters in the C.A.S.T. Watchlist and Newly Qualified Interpreters, providing feedback to ensure quality and compliance.
• Complete and upload monitoring scoresheets in full and on time.
• Support sales demonstrations for OPI and VRI service offerings and participate in new customer pilots.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in interpretation, translation, or call center.
• Near-native fluency in English and Spanish languages and highly skilled in cultural dynamics.
• Must obtain a passing score (70%) on the Lionbridge Spanish-English assessment and complete all required online training.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Superior customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Computer literacy including ability to use the Microsoft Office suite.
• High-speed internet (minimum 20 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload) and ability to connect directly to modem via hard wire.
