Location: Hybrid role, must work onsite three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) from our NYC, San Francisco, or Seattle hub locations. Travel 2–3 times per year.
Salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD Annually.

What you will do
- Own core marketplace systems end-to-end, including backend services, data inputs, and experimentation infrastructure.
- Improve reliability, performance, and observability of the marketplace surface area.
- Build and evolve personalized marketplace experiences, including matching, search, and recommendation capabilities.
- Partner closely with Product and Data Science to translate marketplace goals into technical designs and execution plans.
- Diagnose and resolve data quality, performance, and correctness issues across systems.
- Enable safe, repeatable experimentation through robust A/B testing and analysis workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production systems.
- Strong backend engineering experience (Python preferred), including service design and data modeling.
- Experience building or operating systems where reliability, data quality, and performance are critical.
- Highly data-driven mindset, comfortable with experimentation, measurement, and optimization.
- Proven ability to operate in ambiguous problem spaces and bring structure and clarity.
- Product-minded approach with an understanding of how technical decisions impact user experience and business outcomes.
- Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Product and Data Science.
