Product Manager, Research (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

What you will do

• Lead the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution of frontier AI technologies that solve real-world problems.
• Partner with research teams to define, improve, and ship model capabilities.
• Identify emerging research with potential to become transformative products and new AI product categories.
• Translate user insights into actionable product requirements and evaluations.
• Assess the AI landscape, market capabilities, and Anthropic’s position.
• Collaborate with research, product engineering, and platform engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• Deep passion for and curiosity about AI and LLMs, with regular use of AI tools.
• Strong first-principles thinking and the ability to execute in ambiguous environments.
• Deep technical background with a strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts.
• Working proficiency in Python and SQL, supported by a data-driven mindset.
• Strong user empathy and the ability to convert vague or contradictory feedback into priorities.
• Track record of launching ambitious products that achieved distribution or commercial success.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of product management experience, including launching new products and scaling existing ones.
• Founder background.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.
