Location: Must be able to work in EU timezones and expect one week per month in our Berlin office.

Compensation Range: €90,000–€160,000

What you will do

• Own and optimize the ingestion pipeline for massive volumes of AI tracing data.
• Make ClickHouse fast by designing schemas, optimizing merge strategies, and tuning analytical queries for dashboards.
• Build new infrastructure-heavy features such as LLM-as-a-Judge, alerting at scale, or batch dataset operations.
• Test with real data in production by running load tests against production data to validate changes.
• Scale the infrastructure for future growth and product directions that push the system in new ways.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering background with excitement for database internals, query optimization, and distributed systems.
• Experience with analytical databases, data pipelines, or high-throughput event processing (ClickHouse experience is a plus).
• Comfortable reading and writing TypeScript (our backend) and SQL.
• Interest in open-source software and enjoyment in discussing user scaling challenges.
• Thrives in a small, accountable team where your output is visible and impactful.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, other OLAP databases, or observability infrastructure.
• Former founder or background in building data-intensive systems at scale.
