What you will do

• Bootstrap new initiatives from proof-of-concept to production-ready MVP.
• Embed short-term in affected teams to diagnose root causes and drive execution on mission-critical projects.
• Focus on cross-functional technical debt and internal tooling improvements.
• Potentially build and lead small teams to execute initiatives.
• Operate with radical autonomy, aligning with stakeholders and delivering results.
• Translate technical decisions into business outcomes, writing RFCs and communicating trade-offs.

Requirements

• Proven experience building systems from scratch and shipping them to production.
• Experience as the most senior engineer during a crisis, remaining calm under pressure.
• Strong backend systems expertise (Python, Node.js/NestJS, TypeScript) with experience in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and AWS.
• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Excellent English communication (C1+) is mandatory. German proficiency is a plus.
