Security Engineer Intern

TL;DR

Security Engineer Intern: Building and protecting AI compute systems by developing a new Threat Modeling Program and assisting with GRC. Focus on securing both cloud and on-premise infrastructure, finding vulnerabilities, and automating security tasks.

What you will do

• Help build a Threat Modeling Program to identify and fix system vulnerabilities.
• Assist with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) activities, including risk management and audits.
• Learn to secure both cloud-based systems and on-premise physical servers in Las Vegas data centers.
• Use critical thinking to diagnose network issues and security holes.
• Write scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) to automate routine security tasks.
• Conduct lab testing using "hacker tools" to find vulnerabilities and suggest patches.

Requirements

• Must meet one of the following Nevada-based criteria: 2 years of hands-on experience in networking, security, or computer science AND currently enrolled in a Nevada higher education institution or trade school/certification program OR at least 2 years of college or trade school in Nevada in a relevant field.
• Possess a self-starter attitude with a history of hitting goals.
• Understand networking basics and be able to write basic scripts or programs.
• Have hands-on experience in lab environments, network simulators, or cybersecurity platforms.
• Demonstrate teamwork skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
