What you will do
- Build and maintain tooling, data foundations, and research/production workflows for systematic trading strategies.
- Improve trading strategy backtesting and optimization frameworks for scalable runs and robust result storage.
- Refine trading strategies through backtesting, tuning parameters, and scenario analysis.
- Build analytical and real-time dashboards for traders, displaying strategy status, controls, and performance.
- Analyze new market data sources, define requirements, and ensure data quality and availability for research and production.
- Liaise with Compliance, Risk, IT, and Trade Operations teams to ensure appropriate controls, infrastructure, and system interaction.
Requirements
- 4–5+ years of relevant experience in quantitative development, trading tooling, or front-office analytics support, building production-grade Python code.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, preferably energy commodities, and trading desk operations.
- Comfortable with quantitative trading analysis, including descriptive statistics, backtesting, and interpreting performance metrics.
- Strong Python skills with a focus on modular, performant, and testable code, including OO design and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with good software delivery practices: Git, unit/integration/regression testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to design reliable real-time and historical market data pipelines with strong attention to data quality and latency.
Nice to have
- Experience working directly with traders and front-desk analysts to translate needs into solutions.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and scalable infrastructure (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with analytics platforms (Databricks) and orchestration tooling (Airflow).
- Performance-oriented tooling (NumPy/pandas/Polars/Numba) and/or exposure to C++ or Rust.
