What you will do
- Participate in an on-call rotation, monitoring the platform 24x7x365 and resolving reported issues.
- Maintain the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of security platforms, upgrading and patching underlying Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, ESXi, firewalls).
- Audit and maintain firewall configurations and policies, supporting relationships with specific teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Design, build, and deliver custom applications and resilient systems for the security platform.
- Identify and implement platform improvement work, continuously improving platform and BT Security performance.
- Develop and implement observability tooling for the security platform.
Requirements
- General IT and security operations knowledge and experience, with in-depth practical experience and knowledge of specific vendor products.
- Knowledge of IP networks and protocols with a background in server and application management in a security environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation skills.
- Familiarity with ticketing and change management processes and procedures.
- Ability to learn new technologies without supervision.
Nice to have
- CISSP, CompTia Network+, Security+, CSA+ and/or CEH or equivalent.
- ITIL/ITSM (IT Infrastructure Library/Service Management) – IT Operations experience.
- Knowledge of automation tools and methods.
