What you will do

• Design and evaluate novel LLM post-training and alignment methods to improve reasoning quality, safety, and factual grounding.
• Build and optimize retrieval, ranking, and relevance systems integrated with LLM-powered experiences.
• Architect RAG pipelines to enhance retrieval fidelity and reduce hallucinations in production.
• Translate research into production by running experiments and collaborating with engineering partners.
• Mentor junior team members and engage with the academic community to strengthen the recruiting pipeline.
• Collaborate across disciplines to shape the long-term strategy for search and retrieval-augmented systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of experience (or Master's + 3 years / PhD + 1 year).
• Industry experience applying Machine Learning techniques or Data Analysis applications.
• Experience building large-scale ML systems for search, ads, or recommendation systems utilizing LLMs.
• Strong research background in Machine Learning, LLM, and NLP.
• Must be able to comply with the office attendance policy in Redmond (4 days per week for local residents).
