Backend Developer (Go and PHP)

Location: Cyprus; relocation to Limassol is required. Remote work is available initially, followed by work from the equipped office in central Limassol.

Salary: Monthly net salary expectation in euros is requested during the application process.

What you will do

• Work on infrastructure tasks for a highload project handling up to 200,000 requests per second.
• Profile, debug, and optimize PHP and Go solutions.
• Design and implement REST APIs.
• Write and maintain unit, functional, and API tests with code coverage.
• Develop scaling solutions, including database sharding and replication.
• Help separate complex project components into Go microservices and implement event sourcing with Kafka.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience developing with PHP and Go.
• Fluent knowledge of Go, PHP, and MySQL.
• Practical experience with REST API design and implementation.
• Understanding of unit and functional testing and the ability to write tests.
• Practical experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing PHP and Go code.
• Understanding of sharding, replication, and data structures.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices, Elasticsearch, or Redis.

Hiring process

• Live-coding session lasting 1.5 hours, followed by a one-hour final interview.
