Location: This role is based in San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week. Relocation assistance is offered to new employees.

Salary: $216,000 – $240,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and implement agentic legal workflows incorporating multi-step reasoning, tool-calling, and orchestration using hirify.global models and APIs.
• Build systems where agents can triage intake, extract and reason over legal data, apply playbooks, and interact with downstream systems.
• Define guardrails around autonomy, review thresholds, and escalation paths for AI-powered legal systems.
• Serve as the primary architect and steward of the legal technology stack, including CLM, OCM, intake systems, workflow orchestration, AI/agent services, and data platforms.
• Design data flows that ensure legal data is structured, queryable, governed for privilege and access, and suitable for analytics and AI use cases.
• Configure, extend, support, and build API-based integrations, webhooks, and middleware connectors across legal systems and enterprise tools.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in legal engineering, solutions architecture, or complex enterprise systems integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with API integration and middleware (REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, auth, error handling, observability).
• Comfort with light scripting or automation (e.g., Python, SQL).
• Deep experience with CLM systems in a complex legal environment.
• Experience designing and scaling workflows using orchestration platforms like Tonkean or comparable tools.
• Hands-on experience building with hirify.global APIs (or similar LLM platforms), including tool-calling and multi-step workflows.
• Strong systems thinking around reliability, security, permissions, and data integrity.
