Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA, USA, with 3 days in-office per week. Relocation assistance is offered.

Salary: $347,000 – $385,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Define and evolve baseline security properties for bare-metal hosts for production use.
• Ensure hosts are verifiably trustworthy from delivery and installation through secure bootstrap.
• Design, implement, and operate the Host Assurance platform, including HSM-backed services, PKI, and host identity/attestation tooling.
• Validate delivered hardware and firmware against vendor claims and continuously manage drift.
• Eliminate insecure bootstrap patterns by partnering with provisioning and orchestration teams.
• Lead, mentor, and directly manage a small team of senior engineers across PKI, operating systems, hardware security, and platform engineering.

Requirements

• Built and scaled deeply technical security or infrastructure teams with direct people-management responsibility.
• Led senior engineers and earned credibility through hands-on technical leadership.
• Deep experience with PKI, HSMs, machine identity, host attestation, secure boot, or hardware-rooted trust.
• Built and operated security-critical infrastructure on the critical path for large-scale production systems.
• Comfortable owning low-level, high-impact systems where correctness, reliability, and scale are paramount.
• English: B2 required.
