Research Engineer, Production Model Post Training

Location: Zürich, Switzerland; hybrid with at least 25% of working time in an office

What you will do

• Implement and optimize post-training techniques at scale for frontier models.
• Research and improve post-training recipes that raise production model quality, capabilities, and safety.
• Design, build, and operate efficient pipelines for model fine-tuning and evaluation.
• Develop tools to measure and improve model performance across multiple dimensions.
• Translate emerging research techniques into production-ready implementations with research teams.
• Debug complex training-pipeline and model-behavior issues while establishing reliable, reproducible post-training practices.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills and experience building complex machine learning systems.
• Proficiency in Python, deep learning frameworks, and distributed computing.
• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems and high-performance computing.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, or evaluating large language models.
• Ability to balance research exploration with engineering rigor, operational reliability, and rapid debugging.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with frontier AI systems and large language models.
• Strong interest in AI safety and responsible deployment.
• Senior-level engineering experience.
