Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer (AI)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; willingness to travel for customer deployments and technical workshops required.

What you will do

• Integrate and deploy AI models on different robotic platforms, sensors, and hardware stacks.
• Adapt software, training, and deployment systems to new robots and customer environments.
• Work directly with customer engineering teams to integrate and optimize robotics stacks.
• Diagnose AI, software, and robotics integration issues and drive them to resolution.
• Build scalable tooling and workflows for deploying, monitoring, and improving models.
• Plan and execute deployments, coordinate with customers and internal teams, and translate deployment findings into product improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong robotics background and understanding of physical AI and robotics systems.
• Excellent software engineering skills, including designing, implementing, and testing robust solutions.
• Strong Python skills and experience with modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Experience deploying AI/ML systems on real robotic hardware, with knowledge of AI training methods, data pipelines, and model evaluation.
• Fluent English, willingness to travel for customer deployments, and a Category B driving licence required.

Nice to have

• Experience with imitation learning, reinforcement learning, diffusion policies, or foundation models.
• Experience with robotic manipulation, ROS/ROS2, robot control systems, or simulation environments.
• Experience integrating AI models with robotic hardware platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment tooling.
