Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Native Networking)

Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Native Networking): Designing, building, and operating high-scale, distributed network infrastructure and software for hirify.global's global services, with an accent on cloud native network stack from Layer3 - Layer7. Focus on defining large infrastructure initiatives such as global traffic load balancing, next-gen service mesh, cross-region gateways, and edge security.

Location: Remote (US). The role may include occasional work at an hirify.global office or attendance at offsites. You must live in a state where hirify.global, Inc. has a registered entity.

Salary: $204,000–$255,000 USD

What you will do

• Build the next-generation service mesh for hirify.global back-end services, collaborating with open-source communities (e.g., Istio).
• Develop cross-region gateways and load balancers for global hirify.global services.
• Deliver edge security systems in collaboration with internal and external teams to protect hirify.global services.
• Design multi-region network architectures on public clouds and build software and operational tools to manage hirify.global’s production network.
• Work with product and engineering teams to optimize network performance for hirify.global services.

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
• Deep understanding of cloud native networking and distributed system concepts.
• Expertise with virtual network architecture on public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and their network service offerings.
• Experience running large-scale networking systems and software (e.g., Edge proxies, DNS, CDN, network gateways).
• Strong ownership and experience building and operating high-scale, distributed systems across the full software life cycle.
• US - Remote Eligible and must live in a state where hirify.global, Inc. has a registered entity.

Nice to have

• Experience working with Istio, Envoy.
