Senior Manager, Perception (AI)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; hybrid workplace

Base salary: $340,000–$408,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead managers and software engineers responsible for perception roadmaps, productivity, execution, and impact.
• Set the technical vision and oversee complex perception projects from planning through delivery.
• Develop dynamic-object perception capabilities using vision, lidar, radar, and long-wave infrared sensors.
• Guide work across segmentation, detection, classification, sensor fusion, and tracking pipelines.
• Collaborate with AI, software, simulation, systems design, and mission assurance teams.
• Present progress, recommendations, and technical summaries to executive leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in computer vision, machine learning, or related technologies.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams of 20 or more people.
• Strong understanding of computer vision systems, AI software stacks, perception algorithms, and real-world autonomy deployments.
• Experience with E2E perception models, transformers, sparse networks, sensor fusion, and uncertainty modeling across multiple modalities.
• Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
• MSc or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous vehicle or robotics perception.
• Experience deploying real products or platforms and working with complex systems.
• Experience validating risk and safety-critical systems.
• Knowledge of GPU or TPU programming, including CUDA or TensorRT.
