What you will do
- Own team delivery by setting quarterly goals, running sprints, and shipping infrastructure projects on time.
- Drive reliability, maintain SLAs/SLOs, and reduce incident recurrence to keep the platform at 99.99%+.
- Lead SEV-0/1 escalations, stakeholder communications, post-mortems, and corrective actions.
- Grow the team through hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Champion automation initiatives to reduce toil and free engineers for higher-leverage work.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Security, and Support for rapid issue resolution.
Requirements
- 3+ years (M3) or 5+ years (M4) managing SRE/DevOps/TechOps teams with experience in 1:1s, career growth, and on-call management.
- Hands-on background in Linux, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/OCI/Azure), and observability (Prometheus/Grafana/Datadog).
- Proven experience leading SEV-0/1 responses, writing RCAs, and building processes to lower MTTR.
- Ownership of SLO/SLA, on-call scheduling, and workload distribution while preventing burnout.
- Ability to partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Support, representing TechOps in escalations and audits.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex failures simply to various stakeholders.
