2D Senior Compositor (VFX)

TL;DR

2D Senior Compositor (VFX): Integrate multiple layers and elements into live-action shots, performing tasks such as 2D tracking, matte extraction, and color grading with an accent on maintaining overall look and quality for assigned shots. Focus on Nuke compositing, CG integration, and collaborating within a fast-paced environment.

Location: Must reside in British Columbia, Canada. Remote work from home with option to work within our studio in Vancouver. All remote positions require a reliable ethernet internet connection and Pacific Standard Time alignment.

Salary: $50 - $65 per hour

What you will do

• Integrate multiple layers and elements into live action shots.
• Perform compositing tasks including 2D tracking, matte extraction, 2.5D camera projection, layering of elements, Nuke 3D workflow, and color grading.
• Maintain the overall look, quality, and color balance for assigned shots and sequences.
• Maintain clean and efficient script organization.
• Work within the pipeline of the show/company and collaborate with supervisors and other artists.
• Address internal and external notes from supervisors and clients, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Proficient in Nuke.
• Knowledge of projection, 2.5D camera projection, matte painting integration, CG integration, Nuke 3D workflow, and EXR integration.
• Knowledge and experience in 3D multi-pass rendering techniques and color space concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must reside in British Columbia, Canada.

Nice to have

• Python/scripting experience.
• Familiarity using Shotgun/Shotgrid.
• Working knowledge of Maya, Houdini, and/or Unreal.
• Past experience mentoring junior artists.
