Senior Frontend Engineer (React/TypeScript): Building a new Session Replay product for Grafana Cloud to help customers understand user experiences and investigate production issues with an accent on frontend observability, debugging workflows, privacy, and performance at scale. Focus on designing and implementing complex, stateful frontend systems involving timelines, overlays, large datasets, and partially available data, and integrating replay into broader investigation workflows.

Location: Remote (Must be based in Spain, Germany, Ireland, the UK or Sweden)

Salary: EUR 97,000–EUR 116,441. Includes Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

What you will do

• Own all aspects of the Session Replay player and investigation workflows, from user interaction to performance and correctness.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex, stateful frontend systems.
• Lead discussions with other teams to integrate replay seamlessly into broader investigation workflows across Grafana Cloud products.
• Implement visual designs using clean, reusable components.
• Improve internal tooling, patterns, and shared components where needed.
• Help grow the team by interviewing candidates, mentoring engineers, and supporting onboarding.

Requirements

• Comfortable working in a remote-first company; communication is key.
• Collaborative, friendly, kind, and respectful approach; operate by consensus.
• Able to communicate design decisions clearly in written and spoken English.
• Strong experience as a Frontend Engineer, and comfortable owning features in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Good understanding of a software development process that takes a user-centered approach.
• Able to transform ideas into working code, design solutions, and write prototypes.
• Enjoy working on complex solutions and value code maintainability, readability & automation.
• Able to troubleshoot modern web application issues and work with profilers, debuggers, bundlers, and testing libraries.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, etc.).
• Experience building debugging or developer-focused tools.
• Familiarity with Storybook, Jest, React Testing Library, or Playwright.
• Experience dealing with performance-sensitive UIs (large lists, timelines, media playback).
• Understanding of privacy, security, or access control concerns in frontend applications.
