Focus on solving complex performance and concurrency challenges, shaping cloud operations, and driving long-term technical strategy for foundational components.

Location: Remote within United Kingdom, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden. Due to export controls, this role is not available for individuals located in or nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Russia, including the Ukrainian territories annexed by Russia.

What you will do

• Contribute to large, impactful projects evolving hirify.globalsearch's core infrastructure.
• Shape how hirify.globalsearch runs within the hirify.global Cloud environment.
• Design and implement new horizontally-scalable features and APIs.
• Optimize internal data structures within hirify.globalsearch for performance.
• Solve difficult performance and concurrency issues, proposing robust solutions.
• Drive the long-term technical strategy related to JDK changes and core dependencies.

Requirements

• Experience crafting APIs and reasoning through design tradeoffs.
• Proficiency in algorithms and data structures.
• Strong knowledge of low-level Java concepts like concurrency, parallelism, and classloaders.
• Experience leading large-scale projects across engineering teams and owning them from end to end.
• Must be located in one of the following countries: United Kingdom, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, or Sweden.
• Cannot be located in or a national of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Russia (including annexed Ukrainian territories) due to export controls.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of JDK internals: modules, Java memory model, garbage collection.
• Familiarity with low-level primitives such as JNI, JNA, ByteBuddy, ASM, bytecode, FFI, and FFM.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
