Senior Backend Engineer (Quick Commerce)

TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Kotlin): Building and optimizing next-generation quick-commerce platforms for global delivery with an accent on scalable solutions, high concurrency, and distributed systems. Focus on designing robust microservices architecture, ensuring high code quality, and deploying/maintaining high-traffic systems in a Kubernetes environment.

Location: Primarily based in Barcelona, Spain, with hybrid work (up to two days remote per week) and opportunity to work from anywhere for three weeks annually.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in production-grade applications.
• High-level skills in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and web services (RESTful, gRPC).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), Terraform/CloudFormation, and Kubernetes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog) and message brokers (Kafka, SNS/SQS).
