Senior Cloud Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Cloud Engineer: Designing, implementing, and maturing cloud platform capabilities, governance, security, automation, and FinOps that enable safe, cost-effective, and high-velocity cloud adoption. With an accent on Azure landing zones, security guardrails, and IaC tooling. Focus on operationalizing security tooling, designing containerized workloads, and driving FinOps practices.

What you will do

• Act as the primary backup to the Cloud Architect, ensuring continuity of standards, decisions, and platform roadmaps.
• Own and evolve Azure landing zones and core platform services with a cloud-agnostic approach.
• Implement governance and security guardrails using Azure Policy, RBAC/PIM, management groups, and enterprise-scale landing zones.
• Operationalize security tooling such as Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, Private Endpoints, and Conditional Access.
• Build automated, reusable platform components using IaC (Bicep/Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and manage containerized workloads, GitOps governance, and Kubernetes platform standards.
• Drive FinOps practices including tagging, budgets, rightsizing, dashboards, and monthly optimization cycles.
• Enable teams through design reviews, best practice guidance, reference architectures, and L3 platform expertise.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cloud/platform engineering experience, including 4+ years hands-on with Azure in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in Azure landing zones, networking, identity, security controls, and IaC tooling.
• Implemented enterprise-grade security guardrails and integrated with SIEM/SOC platforms such as Sentinel.
• Proven FinOps experience across tagging strategies, anomaly detection, reservations, and cost reporting.
• Script confidently in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Understand modern cloud foundations: networking, identity, secrets management, CI/CD, and reusable module.
