TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Golang): Building and optimizing high-load backend services for a patient navigation platform with an accent on API design, cloud infrastructure, and scalability. Focus on architecting and managing production cloud infrastructure, ensuring high performance, and taking products from development to public release.

Location: Hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area office, at least 2 days a week (currently Tuesday/Wednesday)

Salary: $180,000–$210,000

What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using IaC tools.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud services and costs.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Design and develop new features and APIs using Golang.
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of our back-end systems.
• Collaborate with other developers, the head of engineering, and product manager.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and its ecosystem.
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Proven experience architecting and managing production cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Expertise in database design and optimization (SQL and NoSQL).
• Proven ability to quickly understand and work with existing codebases.
• Experience taking products from development to production.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of performance optimization and scalability best practices.
• Experience working in a fast-growing startup environment.
