Location: Our company is distributed by intention, hiring engineers wherever they are, and collaboration occurs across continents. Export controls apply to Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea Region of Ukraine, the Donetsk People’s Republic (“DNR”), and the Luhansk People’s Republic (“LNR”), potentially requiring an export license for employment.

Salary: $133,100—$210,600 USD (or $159,900—$252,900 USD in select locations like Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, San Francisco Bay Area CA, and New York City Metro Area)

What you will do

• Improve storage efficiency for metrics, logs, and other data types within hirify.globalsearch.
• Advance the ES|QL solution for querying data.
• Optimize storage layout for object storage.
• Enhance current logging solutions and metrics processing capabilities.
• Extend the logic for efficiently querying and aggregating stored data.
• Design and implement advanced algorithms and data structures, often at the system and hardware level.

Requirements

• Strong core Java skills, including standard library data structures and concurrency constructs.
• Excellent understanding of concurrent and parallel programming principles.
• Excellent background in applied data processing (data structures, algorithms).
• Familiarity with storage systems and low-level OS abstractions.
• High level of autonomy to take on and guide projects from beginning to end.
• Solid software engineering foundations with a proven track record of designing and delivering high-quality solutions.
• Comfortable with collaborative development, including giving and receiving feedback.
• Experience using several data storage technologies like hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience building things with hirify.globalsearch.
• Experience working on data storage technology.
• Experience designing, leading, and owning cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiarity with open-source projects, source control workflow, and continuous integration.
