Location: Remote from Canada, United States, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, United Kingdom. Not available for individuals located in or nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea Region of Ukraine, the Donetsk People’s Republic (“DNR”), and the Luhansk People’s Republic (“LNR”).

Salary: $192,500—$304,500 CAD

What you will do

• Lead cross-organizational initiatives to produce an industry-leading Timeseries solution offering.
• Contribute to hirify.globalsearch by building data-intensive new features and fixing intriguing bugs, improving code quality.
• Implement data structures and algorithms, sometimes engaging with the operating system and hardware.
• Act as an expert in several areas of hirify.globalsearch, improving them based on your insights.
• Collaborate with community members from all over the world on issues and pull requests.
• Write idiomatic modern Java.

Requirements

• Experience implementing novel techniques for efficiently indexing, storing, and querying Timeseries data.
• Strong technical leadership skills, high autonomy, and ability to guide projects from beginning to end.
• Strong skills in core Java, including standard library data structures, concurrency constructs, and newer features.
• Strong desire to optimize and make use of the most efficient data structures and algorithms.
• Comfortable developing collaboratively, giving and receiving feedback on code, approaches, and APIs.
• Experience using several data storage technologies like hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building things with hirify.globalsearch.
• Familiarity with open source projects, source control workflow, and continuous integration.
