TL;DR

Principal Embedded Software DevOps Engineer (Medtech): Supporting and architecting CI/CD infrastructure for advanced robotic surgical systems with an accent on embedded build environments and cross-compilation toolchains. Focus on automating release processes, maintaining large-scale Git/SCM ecosystems, and optimizing system reliability in a high-compliance medical environment.

Location: Based in the Munich area, Germany; requires working a minimum of 3 days a week onsite

What you will do

  • Architect and maintain end-to-end CI/CD systems using the Atlassian Suite and JFrog Artifactory.
  • Lead DevOps automation initiatives for infrastructure, tools, and SCM services.
  • Debug complex build issues for cross-compiled, multi-target embedded architectures.
  • Automate deployment pipelines across development, QA, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, testing, and project management.
  • Define and implement technical roadmaps to increase product development efficiency.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Several years of professional experience, with preference for a Master’s degree or PhD.
  • Expertise in embedded build environments, including make, CMake, and cross-compilation tools.
  • Strong Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu/RHEL).
  • Advanced proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell) and containerization (Docker).
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles and practices.

Nice to have

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Git infrastructure.
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting for technical projects.
  • Knowledge of monitoring systems like Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
