Senior Engineering Manager (Elasticsearch)

Location: Remote (Global). Note: Due to U.S. and other country export controls, hirify.global does not employ individuals located in or nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea Region of Ukraine, the Donetsk People’s Republic (“DNR”), and the Luhansk People’s Republic (“LNR”).

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and lead a globally distributed team of software engineers.
• Lead the efficient delivery of search enhancements with regular releases of hirify.globalsearch.
• Work with product managers to define requirements.
• Build roadmaps and lead prioritization, balancing structure and planning.
• Identify resource requirements and drive recruitment of high-quality colleagues.
• Support the development and training of direct reports through regular 1:1s and career conversations.

Requirements

• Experience leading distributed teams of software engineers.
• Ability to work in a distributed team throughout the world.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Previous experience working with collaborators outside of Engineering.
• Knowledge and care about writing performant software and fixing performance issues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and independently.

Nice to have

• Significant hands-on software engineering experience.
• Experience working in Lucene or Solr.
• Open Source experience.
• Prior professional exposure to hirify.globalsearch.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
